The Bridal Skin Prep Guide
The Bridal Skin Prep Guide
One of the questions I receive most often from brides is:
"What should I be doing with my skin before the wedding?"
The good news is that beautiful wedding-day makeup doesn't require a complicated routine or a shelf full of
products. In fact, some of the best results come from keeping things simple and consistent.
One of the questions I receive most often from brides is: "What should I be doing with my skin before the wedding?"
The good news is that beautiful wedding day makeup doesn't require a complicated routine or a shelf full of products. In fact, some of the best results come from keeping things simple and consistent. As an esthetician and makeup artist, my goal is never to completely transform your skin. Instead, I want to support your skin and create a beautiful, long-lasting makeup look that looks like the very best version of you.
Healthy balanced skin provides the ideal canvas for makeup.
Whether you're getting married in six months or six weeks, these are the principles I recommend to my brides time and time again.
Focus on Consistency Over Perfection
It's tempting to try every trending product, facial, or treatment leading up to your wedding. More often than not, this can leave skin feeling irritated, sensitized, or unpredictable.
The most effective approach is consistency.
A gentle cleanser, hydrating serum, moisturizer, and daily SPF will do far more for your skin than constantly switching products in search of a quick fix.
3-6 Months Before Your Wedding
This is the time to focus on supporting your skin barrier and building healthy habits.
Prioritize:
Daily SPF
Consistent hydration
Gentle cleansing
Regular exfoliation (not under or over exfoliating!)
If you're considering treatments such as peels, dermaplaning, or injectables, this is also a good time to discuss timing with your provider so your skin has ample time to settle before the wedding.

Please remember everyone has texture and break outs!
It is completely normal to have a stress pimple on your wedding day and yes, I have everything in my makeup kit to cover it up.
I have your back always! <3
4 weeks before your wedding
As the wedding approaches, the focus shifts toward maintaining not correcting.
This can be a great time to incorporate:
Hydrating masks
Lip treatments
An extra hydrating layer
The goal is hydrated, comfortable skin. This means NO new treatments or products during this time. If you have a facial booked make sure to let your esthetician know your wedding is coming up and you need hydration and not extractions.
One of the most common mistakes I see is trying something new OR not pausing an aggressive product within the wedding month. It takes skin 30 days to recover and turn over new skin cells, which means you risk potentially irritated, patchy skin on your wedding day.
The Wedding Week
Less is more.
This is not the time to experiment with new products, schedule last-minute treatments, or dramatically change your routine.
Instead, focus on:
Drinking plenty of water
Getting quality sleep
Keeping skin hydrated and calm
Using products you already know your skin loves. A calm complexion photographs beautifully.
Your wedding morning should feel joyful, not stressful.
My role is to create a calm experience and ensure you feel comfortable, confident, and like yourself throughout the day.
